What is Plan Camp? It is a time when 28 like minded women come together with apprehension, nerves and a love of planners, and leave feeling joyous, happy and inspired! We also left, knowing we had made some lasting deeper friendships with 27 others that loved to do and talk about what we love.
We had so much fun this past weekend at PlanCamp. Design Pandemonium, treated us from the time we entered the beautiful estate. We were pampered and spoiled. Vicki and Jess, with the help of the magnificent Felicia from Libbie & Co. hosted the weekend and there were 28 ladies invited. The 4 story house was AMAZING! It was complete with a gymnasium, exercise room, sauna and 7 bedrooms 7 bedrooms, each decorated in their own unique camping theme.
Jennifer and I were lucky enough to have sponsored the room called the Firefly room. We gave our campers a caboodle filled with slumber party and camping necessities and a few planning stencils and supplies as well.
The room we stayed in was sponsored by One Tough Cookie Company and EbeeGbee, the Fat Cat Designs and Birds Fly Studio It was a wonderful surprise to receive exclusive cookies made by One Tough Cookie in the shape of a camper and a heart. Ginger, from One Tough Cookie, also made cookies for all the campers in the shape of toasted marshmallows on a stick! I was wrong in thinking they are too pretty to eat! (because they were DELICIOUS).
After arriving on Friday, we toured the house and everyone got settled in their rooms. We enjoyed a fun Social evening with food, drinks and games. Saturday, our bus arrived to whisk us off to the Pinners convention. Anything you can find on Pinterest was there. We managed to find some items we couldn’t live without, including some interesting water resistant translucent paper that I cannot wait to play with.
Sunday, Jenn and I put on our Journal This Now hats. The Basketball court was transformed into a classroom. We were given the opportunity to introduce ourselves and share our stencil passion with all the others. This was the time we could show how we like to use our stencils, encourage others to use pencil first and then to follow up with ink. JTN stencils are more like guides or templates and we got to demonstrate that. Jenn showed how to sponge with a makeup sponge discussed how she likes to create a quick background by addinng lots of color to your planner or bullet journal pages.
I love showing colored pencils, so I talked about the different colored pencils such as the Faber-Castell Polychromos and the Prismacolor and the good characteristics of both. Jennifer also talked about Jane Davenport mermaid markers. We both were able to share our love of those and the different ways that we like to use them.
It was a blast talking about our stencils and introducing people to them. Leuchttrum donated a planner for every camper that attended. We want to be sure to give a shout out to them for their generosity.
We came away with lots of ideas, suggestions and excitement. JTN can’t wait to go back to the drawing board and create new stencils that everyone could use incorporating all the ideas of our new camper friends.
